There’s something wonderfully organic about this little honeycomb carved from Himalayan quartz. Himalayan quartz is a naturally formed quartz crystal found in the Himalayan region, prized for its clear to softly cloudy appearance and natural inclusions that give each piece its own character. I love the way this particular stone feels both earthy and luminous.
I set the carved beehive in fine silver and designed the necklace in a simple Y shape, letting the stone become the focal point. The silver has been oxidized and brushed to give it a soft, rustic patina that complements the natural character of the quartz.
I attached it to a lightweight (but heavy looking) sterling silver chain, making it an easy piece to wear.
The stone in its setting measures approximately 23mm around. The necklace measures 17 inches long, with a drop of approximately 1.75 inches.
