The heart has been carved into an unusual asymmetrical design, which I love—it gives the stone an organic, imperfect shape. I set it in all fine silver and added a few shiny silver dots for a touch of sparkle.
The opal in its setting measures approximately 22mm x 20mm. The entire piece has been oxidized and brushed for a beautiful, slightly rustic patina.
I attached it to a sterling silver paperclip chain, and the necklace measures 18 inches in total length.
