This heart-shaped opal is packed with fiery color! A warm golden-yellow body is alive with flashes of vibrant orange and red, along with shimmering green that appears as the stone catches the light. The natural dark markings add wonderful contrast and make the bright colors really stand out.
The opal measures approximately 15mm x 13mm, not including the bale. I set it in 10k gold and attached it to a fine silver back sheet. The entire piece has been lightly oxidized and brushed to enhance the warmth of the gold and complement the opal’s rich red-orange glow.
The pendant is finished with a sterling silver paperclip chain and measures 18 inches long.
Handcrafted in my studio, this is one of those opals that seems to come alive when you move it in the light.
