Small but full of character, this beautiful Koroit opal has gorgeous natural veining in rich indigo blues and greens running through the stone. I love how much color and detail is packed into such a petite opal.
I set it in fine silver and added a single 14k gold-filled DOT along the side, along with a gold-filled bale for just a touch of warmth against the cool blues and greens.
The opal in its setting measures approximately 17mm x 14mm, not including the bale, and is attached to a sterling silver paper clip chain.
The necklace measures 17.5 inches long.
The entire piece has been oxidized and brushed for a soft, timeworn patina that brings out the texture of the silver and the beautiful veining in the opal.
