A little slice of pink perfection! Rhodochrosite stalactite slices are prized for their concentric bands of rose, watermelon pink, and creamy white. These beautiful formations are most famously associated with Argentina’s historic Capillitas Mining District.
This slice did not disappoint. Up close, it reminds me of the inside of a pink grapefruit, with delicate bands surrounding a beautiful center. I set it in fine and sterling silver, adding three 14k gold DOTs to bring a little warmth and echo the stone’s circular pattern.
A textured sterling silver band completes the design, all lightly oxidized and brushed for a soft patina.
